Welcome to the Focal Plane Challenge.
AKA, the month of Exposure. No, not like that.
FPC is a month of photoblogging basically. One picture a day, for an entire month. It's not a true photo challenge in the "we're going to judge the entires and award a cash prize" sort of event (there's no cash prize), but more of a personal challenge.
NEWSFLASH:
FPC has a partner: FPC Alphabet Soup Challenge
Another great idea has been hatched. Watch the new site for details, and get your cameras ready for battle in September!
That month is March. The first challenge began March 1, 2007, and ended on March 31, 2007. It was a great success, considering we had a 'soft opening' and only a few people participated. Everyone had fun though, and that was the important part.
This is an experiment. We don't know if it'll ever achieve the notoriety of NaNoWriMo, but it might be fun. FPC:MoE is all about exploration. There are only a few rules:
- The contest begins March 1st.
- Don't just snap a picture. That's too easy. Select a subject. Compose the shot. Think about the meaning. Try to be a photographer.
- One image per day. You can take more than that if you like, but the idea is that it's a picture a day. No more, no less.
- No missing days. Take a picture EVERY DAY. Even if it sucks, it's just a photoblog.
- Keep your images private until April 1st. Then post them. I'll have mine up on Flickr, and I'll x-post them here.
- Enjoy it! This is supposed to be a fun challenge!
